Gusii for beginners course (Level A1)
In this Kisii beginners language course, we will consider how students learn how to make meaning through learning additional languages. We believe that teaching a language cannot be successful only through routine and repetition but should be creative and communicative. We focus on learning to speak the language. In addition, teaching the most effective ways to master correct pronunciation and intonation.
Our students learn most effectively in classrooms that are highly communicative. They mainly use techniques such as role-play, grammar games and videos to support lesson content.The Current political, social and cultural materials are integrated to add interest and increase knowledge of their culture.
The course will take a minimum of 3 months. It is divided into 4 modules with 30 hours each. The course will take a total of 120 hours.You will be expected to take a short test after every module, to determine the students progress. The language level and ensure placement in the correct class.
The course will focus mainly on;
- Introducing yourself, your family, friends etc
- Everyday situations vocabulary
- Cross-cultural references, people, places
- Ordering food in a restaurant/shopping/making arrangements
- Describing likes and dislikes
- Useful phrases/common expressions
- Greetings and Introductions, cultural references
- Talking about your hobbies, family, home, profession
- Basic grammar structure / pronunciation
